What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do (Part 2)

Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

Trust: reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a thing; a confidence.

How to Trust

1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

2. Lean not on your own understanding.

Isaiah 55:8-9, KJV
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

2 Corinthians 12:7, 9, 12, NLT
...even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

3. Seek His will in all you do.

Focus on the will of God, not the struggle you're in.

"Life is but a Weaving” (The Tapestry Poem)
by Corrie Ten Boom

My life is but a weaving Between my God and me. I cannot choose the colors He weaveth steadily.
Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow; And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upperAnd I the underside.
As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned
He gives the very best to those Who leave the choice to Him.

Not ’til the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly Will God unroll the canvas And reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful In the weaver’s skillful hand
He knows, He loves, He cares; Nothing this truth can dim.
Today, your life and future may look like the inside of this quilt. All you may see is the tangled mess, the threads knotted and matted and hanging everywhere. But God, Who knows you by name and watches over you continuously, and always, He sees the finished product. He sees the treasure you are. He sees the worth and the value and the usefulness. And all we have to do is, "Trust in the Lord..."
