I Love My Church
Text: Philippians 1:2-6 NLT
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. 3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
I love my church because we are:
1. Doing life together.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. (Proverbs 27:17 NLT)
2. Walking together as brothers and sisters.
This church helps us develop and use our gifts and talents.
3. Accepted and cared for.
You let me be who I am.
- I have doubts (but God's faithfulness keeps overshadowing my doubts.)
- I don't always know what to do. But together, we work through it and God has done great things.
- I so appreciate it when you cut my family some slack.
I love my church, and I just want to tell you that I am more grateful for you than you realize. I want to thank you. Thank you for being real and genuine and transparent and faithful to Jesus and committed to this church. The church - our church - and churches just like ours, are the hope of the world! I can't help but wonder why anyone would not want to be a part of this great family.
