I Love My Church

Text: Philippians 1:2-6 NLT

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

I love my church because we are:

1. Doing life together.

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. (Proverbs 27:17 NLT)

2. Walking together as brothers and sisters.

This church helps us develop and use our gifts and talents.

3. Accepted and cared for.

You let me be who I am.

  • I have doubts (but God's faithfulness keeps overshadowing my doubts.)
  • I don't always know what to do. But together, we work through it and God has done great things.
  • I so appreciate it when you cut my family some slack.

I love my church, and I just want to tell you that I am more grateful for you than you realize. I want to thank you. Thank you for being real and genuine and transparent and faithful to Jesus and committed to this church. The church - our church - and churches just like ours, are the hope of the world! I can't help but wonder why anyone would not want to be a part of this great family.
